26 DE MARÇO. 11 ANOS COSANOSTRA. PANTHA DU PRINCE LIVE + HEDONIC2 De nome Hendrik Weber este amante da pesca e filosofia dá-se a conhecer como Pantha Du Prince, corria o ano de 2002, através da germânica Dial. Influenciado pelo techno de Detroit, acid house, ou mesmo pela pop mais suja de nomes como My Bloody Valentine e Slowdive, Pantha Du Prince vinha-se a revelar ao 1º álbum, “Diamond Daze” (2004), construção meticulosa, onde o austero convive com a delicadeza, o sinistro com a emotividade.

3 anos se seguiram, com a edição de 2 Ep’s e remisturas para nomes como Depeche Mode, Animal Collective ou Phantom/Ghost, até ao 2º Lp, “This Bliss”. Inspirado no minimalismo esotérico de Wim Mertens e com uma identidade já muito vincada, Du Prince dá continuidade a um trabalho assente numa sonoridade marcada pelo requinte melódico e riqueza do seu minimal techno. Sem surpresa, publicações como a Spex e Groove consideraram “This Bliss” melhor álbum do respectivo mês.

“Black Noise”, editado este ano pela Rough Trade, é até à data um dos registos mais interessantes no seio da música electrónica. Com contribuições de Noah Lennox aka Panda Bear, e Tyler Pope (!!! e LCD Soundsystem), “Black Noise” eleva Pantha Du Prince a um estatuto ocupado por artistas como Villalobos ou Isolee, trabalhando com delicadeza e astúcia os princípios do techno e house, e conquistando um maior espectro de ouvintes.

Consta que ao vivo Pantha Du Prince surge como um pintor, utiliza batidas e sons para dar cor e brilho à sua obra, proporcionando momentos de prazer que libertam a imaginação numa viagem hipnótica sem destino marcado. Cá esperamos para ver.
