PAN / TONE live! @ ViaClub

Sheldon Thompson, de cognome Señor Shelbono del Monte, é um homem de muitas caras. Como Pan/tone é influenciado por nomes como de T. Raumschmiere ou Anders Ilar, e é essa energia que se encontra nos seus concertos. Em 2004 explodiu com três àlbuns de diferentes inspirações onde conseguiu manter um nível de excelência ao alcance de poucos. Remisturas para Jake Fairley e Misc. ou álbum "Breakfeast Included", sob o pseudónimo Gringo Grinder, são bem demonstrativos da criatividade não normativa que emana das suas composições.
Agora está de regresso aos longa-duração e também ao palco do Via Club, para apresentação de Skip The Foreplay na sua editora Cereal Killers. Excelente álbum, onde se destacam as faixas tecno Clean Getaway e Doner Kebab e a melancolia de Broken English.
Durante esta semana estaremos a oferecer bilhetes para o live act de sexta feira no Via Club e também cds "Skip The Foreplay" de PAN / TONE. Estejam atentos!

Radiohead Dream Festival

O festival Daydream decorreu no Parc Del Fórum em Barcelona na passada Quinta-feira dia 12 de Junho. A primeira edição (existirão outras?) do certame organizado pela Sinnamon Records contava com três palcos (um dos quais o Auditori), e com uma programação que foi feita refém dos cabeças de cartaz: Radiohead. Todas as outras bandas a actuar tinham como critério de selecção uma “qualquer que fosse” relação de proximidade com os Radiohead. Assim vieram bandas como Liars e Bat for Lashes, que se encontram neste momento em digressão com eles; Faust e M83 que o fizeram no passado; Modelesktor, Plaid, Cristhian Vogel, Skream entre outros que os remisturaram. O festival tinha portanto um tema: Radiohead, e terminou com um concerto em que o Ensemble Nacional De España de Musica Contemporânea interpretou temas dos mesmos.
Quanto aos concertos em si houve bons e maus. Alguns tiveram actuações que desiludiram bastante. Tais como os Liars, que fizeram jus ao seu nome enganando-nos completamente sobre as ideias e sensações de força, energia e criatividade que temos deles: foram murchos, sem vida, e só nos dois últimos temas parecem ter ressuscitado. Os M83 também foram outra fracasso. Começaram bem, mas uma incursão demasiado centrada no ultimo disco acabou por fazer, com que os melhores temas que têm fossem substituídos por uma pop por vezes (muito) pirosa. Já os Bat For Lashes não desiludiram mas também não encantaram ninguém. Não foi uma má actuação, mas ninguém ficará com ele na memoria nem dirá aos amigos que foi algo inesquecível ou imperdível. Quanto à produção do festival também se sentiram algumas queixas relativas aos restritos horários dados a cada uma das bandas para tocar. Alem de Radiohead e Modeselektor ninguém pode tocar mais de 45 minutos, e era impossível para qualquer espectador ver todos os concertos na integra, sendo possível no máximo ver 30 minutos de cada um.
Mudando o tema para o “bom” podemos focar-nos nas actuações hipnoticamente densa e experimental dos Faust, que praticamente abriram o festival tocando no Auditori, refrescanco o publico do calor que se sentia lá fora pelas 17 horas; Do festivo Four tet cujo “live” consegui ser um dos momentos de escape para os fracos concertos que até ao momento tinham acontecido, e obviamente para os exímios Radiohead. Estes eram sem duvida a banda mais esperada do festival, e a que mais atenções e publico recebeu. Começaram logo após o pôr-do-sol e foram os únicos a gozar de um tão extenso tempo de actuação: 2 horas. Entraram triunfantes, e conseguiram manter o publico sonhador por duas curtas e apertadas (de gente) horas. A banda de Thom York foi perfeccionista. Nunca num festival, e até talvez mesmo num concerto em sala fechada tinha ouvido um sou tão limpo, demasiadamente cristalino. Alem da qualidade do som (que primava por estar a um volume bastante baixo devido para um cabeça de cartaz, os Radiohead surpreenderam pela qualidade artística do vídeo-cenario de certa forma inspirado no seu ultimo videoclip “Jigsaw Falling Into Place”, e pelo jogo das luzes, que por vezes fazia lembrar o vídeo “Tonto” dos Battles. Se o alinhamento não foi o mais fulminante, nem o mais eléctrico, a dimensão e qualidade do espectáculo visual dos Radiohead fez esquecer muita coisa que não foi ouvida. Pena não ter corrido bem Ideoteque.
