Pensei em escrever qualquer coisa mais extensa e explicativa.
Pensei detalhar pormenores históricos e curiosidades.
Pensei enaltecer a bendita casmurrice destes estarolas.
Pensei transmitir a importância que estes oito anos representaram progressivamente. Na música e nas amizades.
Mas já me conheço...

Esta semana regressa o Ciclo Senses!
Depois dos experimentalismos de Helios e Xela, eis mais dois convidados a não perder...
Senses
O ciclo «Senses» pretende ser uma mostra de formas de criação contemporânea
em que música e imagem se combinam em espectáculos multimédia. O trabalho
com a materialidade digital será o denominador comum aos artistas a
apresentar. Além de espectáculos, haverá a realização de mostras de vídeo,
exposições, conferências, debates, showcases e workshops de criação de
música digital, com o objectivo de alargar a interacção entre artistas e
público, estas diversas acções irão sendo introduzidas gradualmente ao longo
do ciclo. «Senses» decorrerá uma vez por mês, de Janeiro a Junho de 2007, e
integra-se na programação TAGV digital dedicada à relação entre as artes do
espectáculo e as novas tecnologias. «Senses» é uma organização do TAGV, com
programação da Cosa Nostra.
No mês de Fevereiro, o TAGV acolhe Vitor Joaquim e Isan.
ISAN MORR MUSIC / INGLATERRA
Antony Ryan e Robin Saville formaram Isan em 1996, desde então gravaram
para diversas editoras e fixaram-se na sua casa espiritual, a Morr Music
(Mum, Lali Puna) . O recorte melódico e um esculpir rítmico detalhado
conferem à sua arte lugar de topo no distinto núcleo da música electrónica
de cariz ambiental. O mais recente "Plans Drawn In Pencil", votado o melhor
álbum de 2006 em www.calmspace.com ,
reafirma o duo britânico como mestre na transformação encantatória de
sonoridades díficeis em prazer auditivo, um objecto deliciosamente Pop no
limiar da experimentação conceptual.
O seu talento de remistura está também presente em música Notwist, Mum ou
Depeche Mode. Robin Saville é ainda dono da excelente Arable Records,
editora do primeiro Psapp ou da singela arte de Andrew Holson e a sua The
Matinee Orchestra.
VITOR JOAQUIM + 3LEDS CRÓNICA ELECTRÓNICA / POR
Vitor Joaquim é uma das referências nacionais da música electrónica
improvisada. Com colaborações diversas (Phil Niblock, Colleen, Scanner,...)
e com o seu trabalho a abranger o teatro, a dança, o cinema ou o video, é
ainda mentor dos Encontros de Música Experimental (Setúbal/Palmela) e
professor de Audiovisual na Restart (Escola de Criatividade e Nova
Tecnologia de Lisboa). "Flow" (Crónica Electrónica.2006), considerado pela
seminal The Wire um dos dez melhores registos electrónicos do ano transacto,
traz-nos um exercício de interrogação acerca das relações, sobre a
construcção de uma identidade através da conversa com o outro. "I cannot
get so close and then… not be close, I think I’m close… I think I don’t want
not to be close...”
3Leds
3leds é o nome do projecto de visuais elaborado por Laetitia Morais. As
imagens criadas para este projecto revelam estruturas biológicas que se vão
desenvolvendo em relação às frequências e ao volume do som. Corresponde-se
assim a música electrónica à intrínseca cinética dos electrões. Além de
imagens videográficas, a luz assume a mesma matéria do som. Pretende-se
desta forma um sincronismo orgânico entre a música e o vídeo.

Passou há dias por Coimbra, no início do ciclo Senses, para um concerto de apresentação de The Dead Sea. Umas horas antes esteve à conversa com o Origami.
John Twells é um britânico simpático e muito conversador e falou-nos, entre outras coisas, da sua permanente ligação à música: como crítico no admirável boomkat.com, como produtor/compositor (Xela, Yasume e nas produções e remisturas para outros artistas) ou como figura de proa da Type Records – na direcção e gestão da essencial editora.
Assumiu-nos, ainda, a preocupação de inovar e/ou diversificar em cada álbum e isso é mais que notório na comparação entre o trabalho apresentado no TAGV e este For Frosty Mornings and Summer Nights – o seu primeiro disco, inicialmente lançado pela Neo Ouija em 2003 e agora reeditado na Type – remasterizado e com 2 faixas extra.
Em The Dead Sea somos amarrados ao mastro de um navio à deriva, num dia chuvoso e de nevoeiro espesso. Dali, agitados em permanente ansiedade e sufoco, observamos um fatal ataque de zombies. É a música de um pesadelo onde algures parece haver uma réstia de esperança.
Já For Frosty Mornings and Summer Nights nos abraça como uma permanente brisa. Ora fria e cortante, ora suave e amena, como nas manhãs gélidas de Inverno ou nas temperadas noites de Verão.
Onírico, de uma beleza tranquila, contudo arrebatadora.
The Dead Sea revela pesadelos, For Frosty Mornings... desperta sonhos.
Pois, isto não diz nada, é apenas um interpretação.
Glitch, IDM, Ambiental… para fãs de Farben, Carsten Nicolai, ou Brian Eno… e de música bela em geral.

A Mau Feitio abriu em Maio no centro histórico da cidade de Coimbra,
na rua do Quebra-Costas, nº42/44, é um espaço que pretende impor-se pela diferença, preenchendo uma lacuna de espaços como estes em Coimbra. A Mau Feitio pretende divulgar jovens criadores de moda nacionais, apresentando as colecções das marcas Storytailors, Transfer04, Aforest-design, Krvkurva e Filipe Faísca, bem como
criadores de joalharia/bijutaria de autor, artesanato urbano, design e
ilustração. São sobretudo criadores jovens, a maior parte desconhecida
do grande público e que encontra neste espaço um catalizador para criar moda/objectos de design/bijutaria de autor que a Mau Feitio acredita serem interessantes e/ou inovadores. Alguns já têm projecção internacional, outros estão ainda numa fase inicial dos seus projectos. Paralelamente, para completar este projecto de moda
alternativa representamos também marcas de moda internacionais como a
Fred Perry, Skunkfunk, Gsus, Fenchurch, Loreak Mendian, Melissa, Paul
Frank, Divinas Palabras e Vaho.

Senhor de minimalismos emocionais, começou a dar nas vistas pela mão de Steve Bug e sua editora Poker Flat. Em parceria com Afrilounge produz dois temas marcantes de 2005 "Just for a little peak" e Phonix". As espectativas confirmam-se com as remisturas para Goldfish und der Dulz na editora Boxer Sport. Mas é a revelação de "Eve by day" na Conaisseur que o coloca nas bocas do mundo do tecno minimal. Tema de cariz emocional e produção "crossover" que nos remonta a paisagens previamente exploradas pela Border Community de James Holden. AGORIA_The Green Armchair Tour
Sebastien Devaud aka Agoria é, ao lado de Vitalic e The Hacker, um dos mais respeitados nomes da actual cena techno francesa. Com uma mãe cantora de ópera e um pai arquitecto vanguardista, a infância e adolescência de Sebastien foi preenchida por música, pelo que, dar a conhecer aquilo que ouvia aos seus amigos mais próximos tornou-se desde cedo uma actividade que o entusiasmava.
Daí a tornar-se dj foi uma questão de tempo e em meados de 90 actuava ao lado de nomes como Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin, Dj Hell, ou Christian Vogel por toda a Europa, com uma identidade muito própria que o tornaria uma figura de destaque no panorama internacional.
A ambição e a criatividade de Sebastien, pediam mais que continuar a passar discos de outros produtores e, em 98, começa a produzir o seu próprio material, chamando a atenção de editoras independentes francesas como a Kubik, UMF, A_Atraction, Tekmics ou Zebra 3 e os seus temas passados por Laurent Garnier, Sven Vath, Luke Slater, Dj Hell, entre outros. “11ème Marche” era na altura tema recorrente nos mais prestigiados clubes, e até os ingleses, pouco receptivos às novas sonoridades provenientes do outro lado do Estreito, se rendiam a Agoria, com Pete Tong e Seb Fontaine a inserirem com frequência este tema nas playlists dos seus programas radiofónicos. Em 2003 Agoria chegaria ao outro lado do Atlântico muito graças à remistura do clássico “Big Fun” dos Inner City que, ao ser do agrado de Kevin Sauderson, o levou a actuar no festival Movement, em Detroit, ao lado do próprio Sauderson, Juan Atkins e Kenny Larkin.
2003 corria-lhe de feição e Setembro desse ano via a coroação de Agoria como príncipe do techno francês, aquando da edição do seu 1º Lp/Cd, “Blossom” (PIAS France), renovando a concepção do techno, com forte impacto não só em França como no resto da Europa.
A imprensa internacional entrava em regozijo considerando “Blossom” “um momento único na história da música de dança, a testemunhar”, Agoria “ um génio cintilante” “um á vontade na forma como cruza géneros inexcedível”, muito graças a temas que se tornariam autênticos hinos como o já referido “11ème Marche”, “Sky is Clear” ou “Spinach Girl”.
“Les Beaux Jours” e o mix-cd “Cute & Cult”, de 2005, confirmavam as qualidades de Agoria como produtor e dj, conduzindo à edição, em Outubro passado, do seu 2º Lp/Cd, “The Green Armachair” (PIAS France). Electro, Hip-Hop, Techno, Downtempo, estão presentes neste registo, sempre com o carimbo de Agoria bem impresso nos temas, onde desfilam os nomes de Peter Murphy (Bauhaus), Princess Superstar ou Neneh Cherry, estrelas que darão luz a um álbum que pretende atingir novos públicos.
“Code 1026” é o 1º tema tornado single, e consta que já faz parte das escolhas de Laurent Garnier, Tiga, Adam Freeland, Dj Hell, Felix da Housecat ou James Holden, provando, uma vez mais, que Agoria consegue reunir as preferências de um leque abrangente de djs sobre a mesma bandeira tal como havia sucedido com “11ème Marche”.
Apesar das suas constantes apresentações como dj e a intensa produção própria em estúdio, Agoria ainda se dedica à remistura de temas alheios como foi o caso de artistas como os já referidos Inner City (Kevin Sauderson e Paris Grey), Señor Coconut and His Orchestra, Layo & Bushwacka, Franz Ferdinand, Paul Kalkbrenner, entre outros.
Dois meses depois do lançamento de “The Green Armachair”, Agoria visita Coimbra para dar a conhecer o seu trabalho e mostrar as razões que o levam a ser considerado o mais importante dj da nova vaga francesa, numa tour que inclui as cidades de Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, Genéve, Berlim, Moscovo…

Ao contrário da série 'Total', cuja bem sucedida função é de barómetro tecno, a editora vanguardista de Colónia KOMPAKT tem na série 'POP AMBIENT' um update da música ambiente com base na definição de Brian Eno: tem tanto de interessante como de ignorável. De facto, as mesmas estratégias são utilizadas ano após anos indiciando o estado letárgico do género.
Mas passemos ao disco propriamente dito. Wolfgang Voigt, visionário fundador da 'casa' KOMPAKT, decide dar-nos razão com a faixa de abertura GAS, já previamente lançada. Felizmente 'Nach 1912' é excecional, e sendo muita rara, é sem dúvida um dos trunfos apresentados. Neste capítulo 7 a secção rítmica aparece como nunca. Triola, Thomas Fehlmann e The Field pontuam as suas 'nuvens' com batidas de algodão. Kaapsta (The Field) leva o trance para debaixo d'água, enquanto Fehlman faz nova aproximação a sons étnicos. Klimek e Ulf Lohmann são previsíveis. Andrew Thomas ganha o concurso de beleza mas a taça vai para os loops de Marsen Jules da editora City Centre Offices.
Concluindo, apesar de previsível, o volume 7 não deixa de ser muito aprasível.

Oxia pela primeira vez em Portugal
O francês Olivier Raymond é, com Laurent Garnier ou David Carretta, um dos pioneiros do techno francês. Com Kiko e The Hacker fundou a editora Goodlife, nome escolhido em homenagem ao mítico tema dos Inner City e que revela as fortes influências do techno de Detroit na sonoridade da editora.
Com uma carreira de dj sólida e respeitada que o leva a todo o mundo, é em 2004 que lança o seu primeiro álbum, "24 heurs", eleito pelos leitores da revista TRAX como um melhores desse ano. 2006 revela a plena maturidade de Olivier com "Domino" na série Speicher da Kompakt a tornar-se um dos temas obrigatórios nas pistas de dança mais exigentes e com a edição do mixcd "Pictures of now" na Scandium.
A par de Agoria, que nos visitará na próxima semana, Vitalic ou Black Strobe é um dos valores seguros da eléctrónica francesa mais dançante.

Mentor do projecto avant-rock To Roccoco Rot e colaborador de Komeit e Barbara Morgernstern, ao Sr. Lippok pouco tempo lhe sobrará. De facto, foi de cinco anos a espera por composições novas. Com a duração de apenas 20 minutos, "Robot" compensa em qualidade. Partindo do mote dado pela Western Vinyl, Lippok explora a natureza da robótica partindo de ideias do escritor polaco de ficção cientifica Stanislaw Lem (falecido este ano, serviu de inspiração a Tarkovsky na produção do filme de culto Solaris), do pioneiro em ciencia computorizada Alan Turing e do irreverente cientista Athanasius Kircher. À natureza fria desta temática, Lippok responde com a tecnologia e espírito do tecno dos anos 90, carregando emoção e solidão nas distintas composições digitais que traduzem o nosso fascínio e relacionamento com os robots. A distorção digital e o white noise cirurgico flutuam sob uma harmonia melódica magistral ecoando na era "An amateur view" dos To Roccoco Rot.
